Applied Horizons

About Applied Horizons

We exist to help organizations move from ambiguity to action. Our work is rooted in the belief that the best strategies are the ones that actually get executed — clearly, collaboratively, and with measurable impact.

Founder

Applied Horizons was founded by a retired U.S. Air Force acquisitions officer with decades of experience leading programs and multidisciplinary teams across the full defense acquisition lifecycle — from early research and development through production, test, fielding, and sustainment.

Throughout his career, he led high-impact efforts within some of the nation's most advanced and mission-critical technology organizations, including:

  • National Reconnaissance Office
  • Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office
  • MIT Lincoln Laboratory
  • DARPA
  • United States Special Operations Command

His work focused on translating emerging technologies into operational capability — aligning mission needs, technical development, acquisition strategy, test and evaluation, and logistics to deliver systems that could be fielded, sustained, and trusted at scale.

In addition to his government service, he is the co-founder of LineIntel, a technology- and software-forward commercial company. This experience provides direct insight into building and scaling products outside the defense sector.

Why “Applied Horizons”?

The name reflects what we do: we help you see the horizon — where your organization could be — and then we apply the work needed to get there. Strategy isn't aspirational for us. It's applied. Every insight earns its place by driving a decision or an action.

Let's build something that lasts.

We're selective about the work we take on — because we're committed to the outcomes.
